Short answer: what did BAS World deliver for Haegens?

BAS World delivered a custom Volvo crane truck to Haegens, ready for daily use. The process included: adapting the truck to Haegens’ specifications, paintwork in Haegens’ blue company colours, fitting extra work lights and additional storage boxes for on-site use, a valid crane inspection and handling the Dutch vehicle registration. The crane truck was ready for immediate use on delivery. Thanks to the smooth process, a second crane truck is already on its way.

Haegens’ need: a crane truck for daily operations

Haegens works every day at industrial sites, construction sites and customer locations where machines, installations or heavy loads need to be moved. Vertical and horizontal transport, industrial relocations, loading and handling, supplying road plates: work where a crane truck needs to be deployed at several locations a day. That places clear demands on a vehicle:

  • A reliable base: a truck that can perform day in, day out without downtime

  • Safety and visibility on site, including in the dark or in poor weather

  • Enough storage capacity for tools, outrigger pads and small materials

  • A professional look that fits Haegens’ visibility in the region

Haegens has been driving Volvo for around twenty years and now has more than ten Volvo trucks in its fleet. Choosing Volvo was therefore a logical step. The question was not which truck, but who could take care of the full process, including custom work and delivery support.

Haegens already knew BAS through previous purchases of Volvo crane trucks at BAS Truck Center. This was the first time they came to BAS World with a complete request, including custom work, inspection and registration. A logical step: BAS World specialises in delivering trucks with additional services for customers who want their vehicle ready for immediate use.

Our approach

How BAS World helped Haegens with a crane truck built around their needs

In this video, Mike Smulders, Product Manager Trucks at BAS World, explains how we worked with Haegens to find the right crane truck. From choosing the base truck to the finishing touches and delivery, we guided the process step by step, with clear coordination and one shared goal: a vehicle that is ready to work from day one.

For this project, we aligned several elements. This included the required bodywork, the finish in Haegens’ house style, extra work lights, practical storage space and the mandatory crane inspection. We also arranged the Dutch registration in full, so the crane truck could be delivered ready for the road.

The result is a solution that fits Haegens’ daily work and matches the way they operate. That is where the value of tailored work comes in for us: not just delivering what looks right on paper, but making sure everything works together in practice.

Customer story

Haegens’ experience with BAS World

In this video, managing director Stijn Haegens explains how the cooperation with BAS World came about and how the process developed. He talks about the decision to choose BAS World for this tailored project, the communication during the process and the final result as it is now used in practice.

What stands out in his story is that the process went as expected, with clear agreements and an end result that matched the specifications Haegens had in mind from the start. A good reason to order a second crane truck, equipped in a similar way, through BAS World again.

A crane truck ready for immediate use by Haegens, with a second already on its way

The first crane truck for Haegens was delivered according to the agreed specifications: Volvo base, in their own brand style, with extra lighting and storage boxes, inspected and registered. No separate processes with different parties, no waiting time between delivery and use.

Thanks to the smooth process and the result, a second similar crane truck is already on its way.

Also looking for a custom crane truck?

A crane truck is not a standard truck. Chassis, crane, body and equipment all need to match each other and your daily work. At BAS World, you will find a continuously changing stock of new and used crane trucks from Volvo, DAF, Scania, MAN, Iveco and Mercedes-Benz, available directly and ready for the road.

Do you need a vehicle that goes beyond what you see in stock? Then we are happy to think along with you about custom work. What we arranged for Haegens, we can also do for you: paintwork in your own brand style, modifications to the body, lighting and storage, the crane inspection before delivery and full Dutch vehicle registration. Depending on your application, additional technical modifications are also possible.
